Mark is a dedicated Real Estate Development professional with 20 years’ combined experience in development, feasibility, advisory, and operations, with a specific focus on site selection, market feasibility underwriting, contract negotiation, and entitlements for hotel development projects that have spanned multiple asset classes and various hotel segments such as lifestyle, extended stay and select service brands.
Prior to joining OTO, Mark was the Regional Vice President of Development for Hyatt where he was responsible for strategically planning and sourcing development opportunities for Hyatt's Select Service brands throughout 14 states representing over 9,000 rooms and 25% system growth between 2014 and 2020. Prior to his role in development, Mark was the Director of Feasibility and Finance for Hyatt’s Select Service brands in North America. In this role he provided support by preparing pro formas and analyzing, structuring, evaluating, and negotiating a wide range of business issues and potential transactions.
Mark started his career at PKF Consulting’s Los Angeles office where he conducted over 50 hotel studies in Southern California, including valuation, feasibility and market studies for banks, real estate companies and hotel operators.
Mark received his undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary in Commerce and Tourism Management.
