AC Hotel Times Square Gives Back to a Cause Close to Home

The team at AC Hotel Times Square recently came together to support a cause with a deeply personal connection to General Manager Glenda Gomez.

Ten years ago, Glenda’s then 8-year-old nephew, Ivan, was involved in a serious accident that began a long and difficult road to recovery. For nearly a year, Cohen Children’s Medical Center became a second home to Glenda and her family. Throughout Ivan’s recovery, the hospital’s doctors, nurses and staff provided exceptional care, compassion and support.

Years later, when Glenda attended a Marriott Business Council meeting and learned that this year’s fundraising efforts would benefit Cohen Children’s Medical Center, the opportunity to give back immediately became personal.

The AC Hotel Times Square team quickly rallied around the cause and opened a lemonade and hot dog stand to raise funds for the hospital. Thanks to the support of team members, guests and donors, the hotel raised more than $3,248, surpassing its fundraising goal.

For Glenda, the fundraiser was a meaningful way to support the organization that had played such an important role in her family’s life. For the AC Hotel Times Square team, it was another opportunity to come together, serve others and make an impact beyond the hotel.
