OTO Development: Approved Manager for Marriott Lifestyle Brands

Approved Marriott lifestyle brands include AC by Marriott and MOXY Hotels. Collectively, these two brands are new major players in the boutique-lifestyle sector of hospitality, a burgeoning movement of design-led hotels meant to enrich the guest experience through modern amenities, sophisticated style, and innovative, locally-inspired food and beverage programs.

“With only a handful of companies approved to manage Marriott’s lifestyle brands, it’s an honor to be included,” commented Jason Boehm, Vice President of Business Development. “As a top performer in lifestyle brand development and management, we bring our unique perspective as both an owner and operator to each opportunity.”

Chief Operating Officer David Ward added, “Lifestyle brands are an engaging, exciting bunch. It’s a more conversational approach to hospitality – we’re able to connect with our guests and staff like never before.”

Growing their managed portfolio has been a priority for the Spartanburg-based company, currently managing hotel assets for third-party owners and REITs. Among the fastest-growing hospitality groups in the nation, OTO currently has seven AC Hotels in their development pipeline, which they will manage upon completion.

“The lifestyle sector is a lodging industry segment that continues to strengthen and grow, and much of that activity surrounds Marriott’s new brands. With our emphasis on this niche, we’re positioned to benefit from the growth of MOXY Hotels and AC by Marriott – both of which debuted domestically in the last 18 months,” CEO Corry Oakes stated.
